Le Jardin Secret and Jardin Majorelle

While we were in escrow, we attended a wedding in Morocco and visited two popular gardens there when we went sightseeing on our off days. International travel during a "quick close" escrow isn't what your real estate professional will normally recommend, but you know sometimes in life you just have to make it happen. How was it that they could have such an abundance of life growing in such an arid desert? The only thing I was exposed to as a child were gardens that required a steady flow of water. Seeing these aloe, cactus, and yucca reminded me of the time I spent in South Africa. The estate I lived on had 20 foot tall aloe trees some of them estimated to be over one hundred years old. I hadn't really thought about creating something similar in our new house, but I was entranced with the beauty and the way the gardens created this space where one could feel protected and safe in an environment that was filled with floral smells and the sound of water. It all had me hooked. Then we closed escrow in the middle of our trip and learned that we were the proud new owners of a cute 1930s home with an expansive backyard while in a hot air balloon looking at the sunrise over Morocco.
